We at Cape Fear Beer & Hymns want to extend a great big THANK YOU to all of our supporters for your generosity in donating to local relief work for Hurricane Florence in our area! All told, we collected $800, which we gave to the following groups:
Wilmington Area Rebuilding Ministry (www.warmnc.org): WARM organizes volunteers and raises funds to complete safety-related, urgent home repairs and accessibility upgrades for low-income homeowners in Brunswick, New Hanover, and Pender Counties.
Walking Tall Wilmington (www.facebook.com/walkingtallwilmington): Walking Tall works with local people living in poverty. Their Tent Community Renourishment Project helped to restore and improve living conditions for friends living in camp communities around the Wilmington area.
Domestic Violence Shelter and Services (www.domesticviolence-wilm.org): DVSS gives shelter and counseling, as well as other support, to those experiencing domestic violence in our area. Their shelter was heavily damaged during the storm.
